The first strike policy is irrelevant in this context. What matters is capability and parity. If a country develops a nuclear capability that they didn't have before, in his case weapon delivery, this is proliferation. This puts pr

I think the biggest problem with YANG is all of the serialization overhead, particularly for large YANG models. For a large SDN network with a centralized controller, I am not convinced that a NETCONF-YANG implementation is really performa

Sort of. We are able to shape these spectra now to improve the spectral efficiency (when using colorless muxing). The next generation of coherent modems will have a 25G granularity and SW will tune the modem to maximize capacity for a gi

There is plenty of BW available in the fiber. A nit, we don't use prisms to combine and separate the colors. We are getting more data in the fiber by increasing the modulation complexity and by making advances in forward error corre

We pay almost 50% in taxes which I think is close to what you guys pay in Europe. The lions share goes to Washington where as far as I can tell it either evaporates or gets spent on very expensive jobs programs like the F-35. Our states d

I've had bad/wrong info on my reports in the past and it took years to get the stuff removed. There is no transparency to the process and the process seems completely arbitrary.

Worked in HW design for 16 years and I've never seen a design that was done by trial and error. Usually lots and lots of simulation and calculation up front followed by a DOE (design of experiment) to provide insight in areas which ar

The problem is much worse here in SV. Lots of all cash buyers from abroad. When I was house hunting last year every house we lost was won buy an all cash foreign buyer. I also know many families where this was also the case.

Why is dark matter diffuse? Shouldn't it clump together? I guess if there's no Coulomb force the stuff just moves past itself. However there should be some kind of collision cross-section shouldn't there? Since there

I recently moved to a SW company that does this every 6 months. I haven't been through the review process yet but it seems all consuming for 3 out of the 6 months. My manager has a team of 7 and it seems like he spends half his time
