Vertical integration by Starlink of the cheapest launch capability in the world (by far) is the reason there are no competitors, and there will be no competitors. The pace of innovation at SpaceX is not THE reason - it’s an additional reaso

Nah. Try vLLM and 405B FP8 on that hardware. And make sure you’re benchmarking with some concurrency for max TPS.

There’s little to no authentication on filing flight plans which makes this a potentially bigger problem. I’m sure it’s fixed but the mechanism that caused the failure is an assertion that fails by disconnecting the critical systems entirel

Just wanted to add a note to this. Tool calling - particularly to source external current data - is something that's had the big foundational LLM providers very nervous so they've held back on it, even though it's trivial to

Yes, muscle memory is powerful. But it's not an insurmountable barrier for a follower. The switch from Google to various AI apps like Perplexity being a case in point. I still find myself beginning to reach for Google and then 0.1 seco

History has shown being first to market isn't all it's cut out to be. You spend more, it's more difficult creating the trail others will follow, you end up with a tech stack that was built before tools and patterns stabilized

No, I meant that a lot of us are working very fast on a pre-launch product, implementing some cutting edge ideas using e.g. the incredible speedup in a small fast inference model like quantized 3B in combination with other tools, and I thin

Extracting lithium from brine is cleaner than e.g. extraction from spodumene ore. Also direct lithium extraction from brine is faster, cleaner, smaller footprint, lower energy consumption.
