That is the least funny thing I've experienced all day. No smile, not even a cringe.

I thought they made that switch somewhere around 1996-2000 when Steve Forbes ran for U.S. president (and I still read the paper edition fairly regularly). I haven't read it since, though they do have at least one good blogger these days (wh

"cyclone of innovation"? Sigh. But it seems like an attempt to supersede JS with something significantly better before JS becomes further entrenched as the dominant language for nearly everything (slight exaggeration of what lots of people

''The patent pledge is in effect a narrower but open source "Don't be evil."'' I get 'narrower' but what does 'but open source' mean here?

Regardless of license requirements, I think the following built in feature is interesting: "way for your users to download the sources of the application. In fact Opa facilitates that by automatically enriching the server (in release mode)

Unclear why the DBD home page on HN, now (a USian independence day tie-in?), but I guess it is clear why it is on the front page. I voted it up, and presumably lots of people will likewise reflexively vote up an anti-DRM link. Anyway, how g

https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Tyler,_Texas is in east Texas. Big stretch to call that Southwest. Also at 100k people it isn't exactly "small town America" as the article claims.

Not true, see my reply above. Users on different StatusNet instances can subscribe, reply, and fave each other. You can see this in action at https://identi.ca/conversation/60337615 (which also points out some of the rough edges).
