This. I’m stupefied that they would include someone in immunosuppressants in such a study. It’s pointless since requiring them in a “cure” makes it largely worse than the disease (when well controlled).

Yes. For the first decade plus I was promoted every couple years, which was what I “wanted” (more like I saw it was what other people wanted and didn’t really have an opinion of my own yet). I enjoyed the continuous challenges and check mar

Isn’t the median price going to be heavily weighted by metropolitan prices since that’s where the vast majority of homes are located?

Six of the top 50 are in Oregon, which is a bit of a surprise to me. But then again perhaps not — the small town lifestyle here is pretty compelling.

I can second using AWS SES, which I've built on for inbound (pretty solid) and outbound (still a work in progress) email for about a dozen domains now. My needs are very-much automation focused, so perhaps not main-stream but more dev

I can't say what the intent has been with your company (not a mind reader) but their actions speak volumes. My suggestion would be to start applying to developer and QA jobs (don't worry too much about the level -- that's al

But who really knows what excellence (hence mediocrity) is in any but historical contexts? I don’t — I struggle with immense uncertainty about choices in hope of realizing real value.

The healthy way to frame it, in my opinion, is that it’s business as usual. I know that isn’t motivational (or fun) for a lot of people, but the pragmatism is something to always have in mind. Top-down influences have and always will drift

Jobs at big companies are less stable and end with less notice than at small ones, at least in my experience. In a small company, particularly one with engaged and transparent leadership, everyone knows what’s working and what isn’t and abo

So much FUD has been spread about the job market for software developers I find it difficult to write-off to Occam’s Razor. AI is just one in a long series of insubstantial yet deeply hyped stories about how the end is near. Perhaps it is,
