Maybe maybe. But most of the large organisations you are refering to make the money they pay their waste^Wmanagers with not from donations, and are typically also not relying on so much volunteer work. In my book, it is totally fine to de

I mostly agree with your comment. However, dont get me started on Etsy. This is probably likely due to my location/language, but the first and last time I looked at Etsy, every product description was autotranslated with Google Trans

Nah. Where I live, eBay is a synonym for buying used stuff. I know thats not quite true, but this is how eBay was conceived, and is still perceived around here. We have a more local service for that, which is fine for finding something w

I stopped purchasing from Amazon years ago. I used to have a phase where I was a really good customer, back in the 2005-2012. It felt trashy back then as well, but in a good sense. These days, Amazon is full of faked reviews, duplicate p

I feel the incentive for free software / open source has changed. The >2000 explanation of why people code for free is basically "they hope to get hired due to their work". Maybe I was too naiv back in the 90s, but it di

Feels like the vi vs emacs fight. For some people, it seems easy to only see their side and consider the others "smart but dumb" or similar. The reality is probably somewhere else. Tastes differ, and just because someone is not

Monoids are cool. It took me a long time to actually discover monoids during coding. It finally clicked when I realized the QuadBitboard I wrote for a chess move generator is actually a monoid. Empty board is the neutral element, and xor

YOu get the most eye-friendly setup by going further in Accessibility settings and enabling VoiceOver. Start off with a slow speech setting, and try reading a few pages of text with it. I guess the most useful gesture for this is two-fing

I dont believe this in the slightest. Besides, the false-positives which regularily pop up around YouTube claims are not a result of any law, or lobbying. They are the result of googles sloppy implementation of the cliam system.
