This is a thing, but not very common in professional settings. All the it/its entities I've met were cool, so I wouldn't mind one as a coworker.

My impression from reading various accounts from people with long careers in tech is that the stuff that compounds also transfers. You don't take the obsolete frameworks and libraries with you (for example), but you take what you learn

What is "it"? As in the ideology, both what it is and what about it is troubling. You didn't answer the question.

I've never encountered someone in tech who didn't have some kind of ideology. What is particularly troubling to you about the ideology of the people laid off?

It's not working. Jeff Bezos said he can't think of anything to do with his money other than build rockets while people die in his warehouses. Too much money makes people out of touch. I don't think billionaires are evil, I j

What's the connection between TMZ and UK tabloids? It's based and founded in the US where we have our own supermarket checkout trash, plus ample TV trash that likely provided much of the inspiration for it.

I would be interested to see a caste breakdown of that poll, and a more recent poll. Nine years is an eternity in tech. One specific to tech workers would help too.

"The left" is not a monolith. There are plenty of leftist gun owners. It's a practical thing rather than a weird obsession, so it doesn't get as much press.
