I think the title is dishonest, but not egregiously so. It's not a real problem, you are right about that.

Since you will eventually be limiting the core functionality I would say it is more appropriate to say it is a free trial with persistent, exportable data.

That seems like an incredibly appropriate class name, then. I'm glad I wasn't missing something :)

Maybe those of us that think this way should have an annual IRC chat so we can continue to learn things while others act like monkeys. Actually I have got a lot of papers I can get caught up on reading today.

ConnectionPool makes me think of a collection of reusable connections that I can borrow from to talk to a server without the overhead of creating an object and opening a socket, it doesn't make me think of managing at all. Maybe I am doing

Actually, I don't think downloading files is illegal, just morally wrong. The distribution of them is a different matter.

Using Firefox and AdBlock Plus I actually expect I will continue to see exactly zero irrelevant spam advertising. Still, it's funny to see the mental gymnastics going on when someone obviously wants to exploit people but does not want to ad

The DMCA is for direct copies of IP. This dispute is better resolved with a civil court case because the ownership is non-obvious. It was a very clear misuse of the DMCA and I hope the victim receives some compensation.

It's becaused they misused the DMCA to force removal of content that, while inspired by them, they actually don't own the copyright of. Vis., they are using the DMCA illegally to remove legal content.

Fuck them. If we gave out government grants for the research it would be cheaper for the public and more effective. Monsanto and big pharma are a net loss for society, so I find it hard to shed a tear over generic medication.

I have no misconceptions. Signed apps are great for the user; the question is who is the CA and how do you get a certificate? The security options are App Store, signed, or everything; I and many others suspect they will change the default

There is no such thing as a "relevant Amazon result" when you are searching your apps and files.

Now that they are crippling their OS, and trying to force everyone to use their App Store (which prevents powerful tools as a policy), who could they possibly be going after?

Ah; I tried Appcode and hated it too much to get to debugging, but it is nice that someone's figured out how to interoperate.

There's that, and also monkeying about with the trackpad (reverse scroll is okay, three-finger drag is very awkward for me), as well as hiding the Library folder, forcing use of the App Store to get Xcode, Xcode constantly crashing... I fee

I've found vim is the finest code editor I've ever used, but it's a crap IDE in terms of organizing a project, compiling, and debugging all from one software. Disclaimer A: I haven't spent a ton of time trying to make it an IDE, and B: I ha

I don't really follow these things and even I know IV was behind the Lodsys "click to buy full version" bullshit patent. Also their entire business model is to be a NPE, so your flagging is quite invalid.

Why do people keep running blogs that are totally inoperable with mobile browsers? I'd like to have a more intelligent comment, but I was unable to scroll without activating links.

This kind of reasoning makes the same presupposition as the article's author. But it is ironic that he mentions musicians--a professional musician's tools, like a programmer's are basically high quality versions of the amateur's. The conjec
