I'm not an athlete, but I've been running 15.3km/day for six days a week for almost a year, and _maybe_ I can put some upper limit on your expectations. While I'm overweight (175cm/86kg, with 75kg being probably the

Indeed. My father had prostate removed (due to a tumor) and does PSA screening regularly. A while after the surgery his PSA showed up again and started raising - slowly. Unfortunately, it took _years_ before doctors were able to locate sour

Unfortunately, we humans quickly loose knowledge. Studies have shown that refreshing knowledge in intervals gives much better results in terms of information/skill retention. So, with high probability we can infer that a student who st

200kb image doesn't block rendering, and while somewhat important, it's not the content the user came to see. 30kb might not be much, but this has to be downloaded, parsed, compiled and executed. These 30kb fight for bandwidth and

Focusmate is great if it works for you. For me, scheduling tasks was yet another task, so I would postpone it as well. I might be an outlier though. People should try various methods and choose whatever works for them. I don't believe

I'm paying close to national minimum wage for it. I'm willing to pay more if that person becomes my personal assistant. I think you can find someone just like me (and possibly you) and have an agreement to connect every day for a

It's a family member, stay at home dad with kids still young enough that need to be watched over, but old enough that you just need to be there most of the time. I wanted to do this for a long time, but always thought that it might be

If you're procrastinating a lot I can highly recommend hiring someone to sit beside you and watch you. For me ROI was insane. 33%-50% more billable hours (currently at 5h/day), income after expenses rose by 50-66%. Nothing worked

That's true for any functionality provided by modules and there's plethora of them. Also, Nginx has support for dynamic modules. Recompiling Nginx always worked out of the box for me too, so it's not like a big issue. One thi

I always wonder - why no one from open source community has created better stats module? Is there something in the license that prohibits creation of modules that overlap with Nginx Plus?

True, caching even simple data dependant on 2-3 variables may require writing dozens of test cases - in practice, it often turns out that the data doesn't rely on 2-3 but 5-10+ variables. However, just because it's hard it doesn&#

If that's the desired behavior then cache layer should allow one to use stale (invalidated ) content. Cache layer (or application layers above it) should be aware of the status of cached data. It's fine if stale data is used delib

This is not necessarily true. You would be surprised how many absolutely trivial performance issues can be found in almost every project. Sometimes it's really just about moving computation of a constant value out of a 'for'
