The site's layout is all over the place. I haven't used Twitter for a while, but I don't remember it being that confusing.

I dislike these generalizations. There are pros and cons to both approaches. Engineers who have used the same tool for a long time will often fail to admit there may be better tools out there to solve a specific problem.

I'm always amazed when I find out a basic app is some corporation's flagship product. Ironically, it seems to be a mostly American phenomenon.

Take my comment with a grain of salt because I have never worked for Amazon and I don't have any relationship with the company. Since these are Amazon employees, I would expect them to experience the downsides of being a consultant, su

The thought that a bunch of people will trust this tool and make some terrible decisions is unsettling. On the other hand it could be pretty powerful if you know what you are doing.

I love this site. I first browsed it ~15 years ago and it has barely changed ever since. It's a good example of how far a simple design can get you if your data model is good.

I decline non big tech interviews that involve some kind of "system design". I've worked with so-called staff engineers who designed systems with textbook antipatterns (I literally studied them). This idea that you need to re
