The density has increased with things that aren't useful. You're browsing the file listing page (<> Code tab) but it now has a bunch of extraneous stuff on the right hand side (Did you know that this repository has 0.5% Perl

This is an excellent read - the topic of UIs for terminal emulators might seem dry but the author has done a really good job with this user manual. It's the library to replace ncurses. Worth a look for any Linux programmer.

The authorized_keys file will not change. ssh-rsa as a key format will stay (it isn't specific to sha1 or sha2), just the client and server need to upgrade to sign/verify session-specific signatures using sha256 instead of sha1. r

It makes it simple to fulfil copyleft obligations to distribute source. Also helps avoid losing source to old programs - a custom vending machine firmware I know embeds source. It would be cool if someone made a cargo-quine rust crate that

To me it seems likely the percentage is even higher in other programs - a web browser has a pretty complicated privacy/isolation model compared with most other programs so that increases the 23.9% "Other" here. Normal "l

Does Go vs C++ account for some of the performance difference? My limited experience with Go suggests it's way more noisy with strace, which can't be great for throughput.
