Would you be restricted/harmed if the version from 2000 was public domain by now? How?

The CVE game is brutal and favours unrecognized unknown bugs (and security risks) over handling recognized flaws that might get a high score but are totally irrelevant in your context.

Only very old editions of COBOL were pre-procedural. Not saying I would want to learn it "for fun". The only fun I had was trying to calculate in Input/Output storage (must be treated as write-only...) or maybe the many ways

Please remember that by default running in a container (docker) is not secure. Unfortunately you need to invest some time and brainpower to improve security.

That's absolutely nuts. Would you risk building upon a stack that might be sold tomorrow to a competitor and killed instantly? Without software freedom and a community this is just a toy.

You had online jobs during the day and batch at night then. That's why you always had to have one night between. Obviously doesn't work when load is 24/7.

Very good keyboards are under 1000$ as far as I learned. Active boxes can also be had relatively cheap. No need to fall into the audiophile trap.

There will be totally inhabitable places due to being too wet to allow humans (and many animals) to survive. It's called the "wet bulb" effect. https://www.sciencealert.com/human-survival-in-hot-and-humid...

Your comment has nothing to do with the real subject here but is just a pessimistic look at language abilities of people.

Git's CLI has improved over the years. E.g. git switch is a thing now. And it's quite consistent regarding order of arguments.

The only reason for using it would be that the GUI is a little bit more capable. But feature crippling without the PUEL addons is horrible.

That can only be proprietary sw. Almost every program I know works on arm64, thanks to availability of the platform through raspberry pi.

Well, Dockerfile is as solid as a bunch of bash scripts apt-get installing and wgetting things from the internet, that means not at all. Maybe nix could provide a real solution for that.
