True, but AlexSolution is saying that you can get the same effect without a plugin. Open your split as a new tab. The new tab (i.e. that split) takes up all of vim. When you want to return to your splits, just close that tab.

Can you expound on why you feel this way? Personally, I prefer the strength of intrinsic rewards. Gamification seems to devalue my effort. But I'm not denying that it works for people. It might not be a perfect solution, but an 80% solution

I've lived for years in both Vancouver and in SF. I can't say I prefer one's taxi service over the other. At least in SF, I have the option of Uber, Lyft, and Sidecar. I would love to have Uber back home, but not for $75 a ride.

Since I have the preview on a VM, I figured I'd look into this for you. An installation of Chrome gives you a desktop and a metro version. Chrome doesn't give you the option of pinning a page to the Start screen. You can still use the Win8'
