Have you read Road to Makkah by Muhammad Asad? It reads similar to your writing and I greatly enjoyed it. After reading your article, I think that book merits a reread for me.

That's advice you're entitled to give if you've done the same ... not if you won the genetic lottery of being born in a Western country like the US.

I would actually recommend against using JS as your first, since it's so atypical.

This is true, but a focused bomb is also one more likely to be used because you're not laying the countryside to waste using it.

At this point, I feel like so many of these startups get acquired and shut down their existing services. What incentive do I have to invest myself in a new set of services that are only going to be shut down as soon as the company is hired?

If we're talking statistics, far more Americans die of diabetes and heart problems than terrorism. Better to spend trillions of dollars there, no, instead of bleeding that money in Iraq and Afghanistan?

I interned there too in 2011 and can testify that employee morale is ridiculously low. No one loves the company, the only people who were working hard were the lifers who'd joined after college and were still there at 40 or 50.

I think the concern is more the loss of literature written over the ages in a language. Equally importantly, language - as an extension of culture - shapes the way people think. Different people thinking differently is how problems can get

I think Hudo's point is that experience with technologies is subjective. I loathe Windows after having been comfortable in terminal, and I loathe Eclipse after having been comfortable in VS.
