I'm going to write a similar year-in-review story for goread.io.

Note that this mechanic is used in the golang standard library and works great as a catchall: http://golang.org/src/pkg/text/template/exec.go#L93

I believe Joel was a short time MS employee. And I think the MS stack was chosen because that's what Jeff Atwood and the other early folks knew best at the time.

Ok. I have an account with a month playtime from years ago. I want to join back up and get into a good corp. How do I find such a corp? I want to go play in fun battles and null sec.

Having myself written such a site ( http://www.goread.io/ ), I concur. Having go on the backend didn't provide any benefits with an angular frontend over another language. I just think they excel at their respective purp

I'm excited for this. I have a fair sized angularjs app that is getting unwieldy, and having a compiler that yells at me about type problems sounds great. Even if dart doesn't get supported by non-Chrome browsers, I think it could

You should consider porting that to the official miniprofiler standard ( https://github.com/miniprofiler/ui ). We want ports in other languages, and php would be welcome. You just have to make the backend, frontend is do

Sort of. goread tracks a global unread date. Anything newer than that is unread. Any item you have read since then is added to a big list that is used to filter returned items. When you've read everything, it moves up the unread date a

The jumping around got fixed last week. No one has reported the read/unread issues you've had. Could you report them to the github issues page? https://github.com/mjibson/goread/issues

I have the exact opposite reaction: a site that allows me to use my google account and not create another one will get me to sign up more readily. Adding persona support is being considered.

That's why it's so awesome. What don't you understand? I get infinite scaling and the datastore. When goread hit the HN front page and the gizmodo front page a few weeks ago, it wasn't any slower: everything scaled perfe

Yes, godoc is one of the best resources for go programmers. The standard library and community packages all cross linked in one searchable, modern interface with direct links to the code.

Just reload. The datastore sometimes errors out and there's no retry logic on the client. It's also possible your feeds have triggered some new bug.

That description is misleading. All it means is that one go routine is executing at the same time between all requests. Up to 10 requests can be processing on any go instance. However, most of the time the go routines are just waiting for d
