That makes a bit more sense, I wasn’t aware it was for gaming productions. I guess it could potentially also be used to create audio podcast content, and perhaps news content. Have you seen it used Ink which is for writing gaming narratives

I had exactly the same experience you describe. I’ve developed serverless code on Netlify and AWS Lambda. I managed to get what I needed working but it was laborious compared to typical local server development. I feel like most of the too

Quite a different part if the audio space, but yes that is quite a cool software tool. I watched the video from the main page. Seems like you could very easily put together a scripted fiction show, with no actors! Also there’s an API and cl

Yeah I’m pretty sure there’s something really cool that could be built around this. There’s a lot of variety possible. Brian host of Techmeme Ride Home Podcast has been experimenting with an occasional open table type discussion on Twitter

HN replies is really good for this: http://www.hnreplies.com The other thing that’s useful, all be it for a slightly different thing, is to setup some Google Alerts to notify you if your username / blog url gets mentioned s

Lots of cool products and experiments happening in the audio space at the minute. Although I’m not sure how practical this actually is. Most of the comments I read on HN tend to be many hours old by the time I find them. What would be cool

I think there is too much focus on child molestation. When this happens it’s terrible and should of course be stopped. But I think the bigger problem, which is arguably worse because it can last so much longer, is child exploitation. Is it

Get a legal job that pays you at least minimum wage. That should be your #1 priority. Absolutely anything. Just apply to everything until you get something. Once you have income that you control, then start applying for computer industry jo

It’s great this project is still going. Here’s hoping it will gain in popularity like VLC. French open seems strong, especially for video.

Mostly for running commands with sudo, and changing to different users, it really made my workflow a lot faster especially because I have several environments, and each one has different passwords.

I discovered a couple of years ago that iTerm2 has a password manager, as well as other cool features like live text highlighting via regex. Anyway it was the first time I had ever used a password manager that you can call directly in the s

The wealth gap has gotten so bad it’s almost unimaginable. I fear however that as bad as it is, that it’s going to be peanuts compared to what could theoretically be possible as AI and body modification Tech continues to advance at the pace

It would be cool if there was a javascript library that replaced broken links with Internet Archive version of the page if it exists. I guess it’s more complicated than just that because you’d have to take into account the date the page was

Good point. SQL is very powerful for somethings. Having some cli tools that focussed on this would be relatively easy to implement, and you could even create a special GUI based tool. What do you have in mind when it comes to it being a “fi

Thanks for the reply. I like that you’ve chosen a scripting language, it makes the book much more accessible. If it were in c / c++ / rust etc, I would never read it. Thanks for sending the writeup of why you chose Python. As for

Yup - I increase the font size a lot these days, especially on mobile. I haven’t looked into the best way to write web pages that accommodate zooming, but there is a huge variety in how pages perform as you zoom. Loads of sites don’t do it
