My understanding of what he said was - to paraphrase and re-interpret a bit - "Free software is BS, because nothing is (as you put it) 'free economically'." That's two meanings of the word 'free' in one proposition. The first refers to the

I hope others will join me in not having any faith. Just ignore the kindle (a.k.a. the swindle) until an open alternative comes along. That's my plan. Faith doesn't really go too far in maintaining a free society. You have to have legal rig

Oh if I could upvote this comment more times I would. The example code here made me immediately think of the lines of code that caused the Debian SSL catastrophe.

You realize that unless you have a trust path via keys that you've signed (preferably by meeting the people holding them) that that verification isn't verifying much, right? It's pretty easy to create a key that has that key id (since it's

I agree that this release provides some much-needed missing features, but I fear that the culture of php, when presented with these new features, will use them to build even more crufty, difficult-to-read code. As a coder and debugger of mu

Just a little warning: The "for i in..." paradigm breaks if the strings you're iterating over have spaces in them. The way around that is to either use find and/or xargs instead of "for i in", or to first set the IFS variable to a value tha

I highly recommend reading "Concsciousness Explained" by Dan Dennett. After reading that it will be very easy to see how one's self can be identical to one's brain.
