I have no idea. We've been using it for a couple of years or so now, and have a wonderfully varied set of products built using Haxe and its libraries. If anyone browsing the comments section is interested in a familiar-ish, statically

I don't think so - it certainly doesn't feel like security theatre to me. Minecraft never had to worry about COPPA; Notch never set out to create a game targeted explicitly at children (it's just since found a huge market the

That said, COPPA concerns will almost certainly come into consideration here. It's not just data storage, but ways that Personally Identifying Information (PII) might be shared through a product, and whether that sharing is approved by

That's an interesting perspective - what's a slow startup time in this context? A quick back-of-the-envelope test on my machine for both node and python suggest similar (around 100 ms) start up times for the bare environments. Do

I'm a huge fan of antirez in particular for this. So many other devs would have shrugged off the occasional latency as acceptable, or a poor measure of true performance, or blamed it on nebulous EC2 performance issues. Which happened,

It's somewhat of an indictment of our industry that I genuinely can't tell whether this is clever, semi-ironic marketing for a real product or flat-out satire.

Just speculation, but I've sometimes seen GPS traces like that when a unit enters a building. You can get a very erratic, low-accuracy set of data points back that look qualitatively similar to the pattern in your link.

Perhaps I'm missing the point, but I'd be wary of advocating pure automation as a replacement for a good old-fashioned manual eyeballing. The point of a smoke test is that for all your care in testing and deployment, you still might have mi

Good to know! If a periodic model is a potentially viable way of looking at things, could it be squared with thermodynamics? Specifically, the constant increase in total entropy.
