If the server is more up-to-date, your push will get rejected and a Growl-style notification will reflect that. Simple. I could see adding an option automating pulling before pushing, in which case a local conflict could occur. In that case

This Maguire & Malmstad translation is what I read: http://www.amazon.com/Petersburg-Andrei-Bely/dp/0253202191 And I found it pretty tolerable. The footnotes are in the back (I think?) which kind of stinks for your first read. Unless

I don't tend to read biz books, but recently I've read a ton of great Russian texts. The Master & Margarita http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Master_and_Margarita Goethe's Faust & the story of Pontius Pilate retold in 1930s Russi

I am going to straight up lift that idea into a web app I've built. Providing users a hint more context about their content makes interfaces less bland and anonymous. Thanks for raising it!

I'm pretty sure that pattern is a stock Photoshop one. But yes, it gives things some depth.

I built Spinto, which is pretty good for technical blogging: http://www.spintoapp.com Git + Jekyll + pre-processors like Scss & CoffeeScript. Pygments-based syntax highlighting, and a web interface for writing content without Git if y

I had never heard of the iOS simulator! Thanks for mentioning it, it just changed my friggin life. I'm on Snow Leopard, and there is no free upgrade to Xcode 4.0. I hunted down a torrent of 4.2 and got it installed though, and the simulator

Aw man. As a bootstrapping web business guy, I can say I've had way more problems with supporting iPads and iPhones than IE. IE costs me $0 to support, and I don't even bother (nobody asks!). Supporting hip and popular Apple browsers can ru

Looking at the numbers now, I see 13.5% of visitors went through to Spinto. We're only talking about 350 visitors to playhangman.net though. Most were probably from a discussion about Ember.js on meetup.com. I spent a little time optimizing

I wouldn't call it inappropriate. It would be bad if I was creating fake accounts or something. If I'm trying to launch, I don't think reminding friends to share and talk about it online is improper. These are obviously the technical bunch

Probably 50-60 hours a week. When I moved to NYC 5 years ago it was to work on my own projects, but it took until last December for me to get up the gumption to go full time on them. Check it out!

Right, if you open a page then push a change then save the page, the pushed change will get overwritten. I think the best option to lock during editing might be to just reject the push while the editor is open. Thanks for your thoughts. And

Yes, the blogging is very basic. Very, very basic right now. The page editor is my focus because it enables something new, but I do want to flesh blogging out properly before exiting beta. If you have any other thoughts on what you'd like t
