i'm not convinced the issue is GIMP not matching Photoshop so much as it having awkward UX that's hard to adapt to. Also, Photoshop 1.0 was released in 1990 (!)

except an LED is either on or off, but a UI button is always "on"

this, and the easy install process. it almost feels like installing malware.

by mitjak 6y ago
it is absolutely not. 90% of visible UI is dark grey painted over a black background. a lot of apps also use dark tones too, like dark blue or green.

just to throw my hat in, I've found CBT difficult to put into practice. a vicious cycle formed as I increasingly blamed myself for not working hard enough to help myself and buckled under the pressure of completing exercises. psychodyn

not sure why downvoted, this is valid. while a valid criticism, in the context of the post it's a lengthier equivalent of "i hate X"

the repetitiveness is the appeal, is all i can say. i hear similar arguments about ambient music. "it's the same chord for 40 minutes", "it's just white noise".

oh yeah. i'm just saying, Apple's audience doesn't necessarily care about tech specs.

i'm not disagreeing with you but, replace "this phone" with "any iPhone" or "any Mac" over the course of post-OS X Apple history.

eh, would Stalin really tell the world the quotes weren't met after all that effort?

not to equivocate but this reminds me of the pro gun control discussion

tech is such a double-edged sword for trans folks. i feel like it both affords opportunity to be recognized for skills but also carries a very heavy potential cost of rejection and ignorance from peers.

cardboard boxes. in closets?!?!

That made me angry too. By a similar rationale, vintage Moog, SC, ARP etc. are insignificant compared to non-programmable Casios of the 80s.

it's def an unserved niche. Rn the answer is basically, niche streaming services (Criterion, OutTV, Shudder, HBO etc), torrents, and DailyMotion+Youtube

it's almost like we need a way to aggregate these sites and rate pages based on tags and how many people list their site. maybe not in the traditional del.icio.us sense but also as a potentially self hosted thing.

loving the transparency of this. i'm definitely becoming converted as I'm reading…

I'm not sold on Fuchsia. The UI harks back a little too much to Java native look-alike widgets which always fell in the uncanny valley for me.

Glider also has Off Your Face, and Glider itself. The latter especially is a highlight. I personally love Tremelo EP the most.
