I can vouch for Caldigit for both Mac and Windows. Been using them since the start of covid. One of the worst docks I've used was the Dell ones. With those I've had. 50/50 chance the Ethernet will work. And if you do connect

I tried brave. But I constantly had ads on it. It would block trackers and ads on websites but if I was to open a few tab it would have crypto ads or some other nonsense.

Not surprised it's a clickbait title. Seems more and more posts are clickbait here.

The big difference is with Google you can disable ads for the most part with an ad blocker. Samsung TVs however you cannot. For example I have a pihole server running on my network. I cannot use Disney+ or Hulu on my Samsung TVs. But Nvidia

XDA has gonna from the go to site for Android related everything. To an ad website. If you don't have a blocker like pihole or something similar, it is unusable on mobile.

Maybe keylogger was too harsh of a term. My current admin told me that our Teams essentially tracks everything you do. For example: if you use a macro tool to stay "online" on teams, the admins/managers/etc know.

That's fair. The syncing is bit janky if you're careful. But having a self-hosted option is what attracted me. I don't trust anyone with my data anymore.

That's the whole problem. There is literally no one holding anyone accountable. These corporations already expect to have a data breach. They call it "cost of doing business". And USA let's every company do this.

I agree. But who is a really going to hold TMobile responsible? USA govt isn't going to do anything. Even if a class action suit occurs, they'll just settle it. To T-Mobile, that's just the cost of doing business.

Google maps algo is terrible. Especially when it comes to toll roads and interstate highways in the US. For example, there is a section of i95 that is single lane for a few miles due to construction. DoT has signs up saying avoid 95 and tak

These policies suck. But it's a company policy. No one is forcing people to work there. I always find these policies in the same vain of "x is legal, so what can't I do it without getting fired". Well it may be legal but

If your company uses teams....you already have a keylogger installed in your machine. The moment I discovered this, I stopped using teams to talk to my manager/teammates about my frustrations or concerns. I ask them to speak on the pho

Is the title is misleading? It sounds like it's a tool to build server-driven components for your native app?

NextCloud that runs in my own personal server. Been running it for a few months and I have 0 issues with it. It may not have the same integration options but it's better than the alternatives.

I love svelte. (I'm not a vue user). But my biggest gripe with it is that you can't create multiple components in a single file like how you can in react. I remember seeing a FR for it in GitHub for it. But can't remember whe

This brings back so many nightmares at my old job. These kind of things would creep up on us all that time and we'd spend a week or so scratching our heads in how the hell did our systems would travel time.

This is awesome. But isnit actually going to get built? Whats going to stop companies taking the money and then see nothing being built? What's going to stop the California govt giving contract to companies like Verizon or Comcast?

Genuinely curious, what makes this different from the factor.io, satisfactory, etc. I feel like the sandbox/simulation genre is extremely over saturated.

I don't think so. But it is a Chinese company so its not the first time where they basically just did a copy and replace. Google doesn't wants to piss off the Chinese govt either by trying to shut down Huawei.

This look great! I've been using Joplin as a way to digitize all my notes from work and life. This actually would compliment that as a to quickly jot down things that I always tell myself "remember to look into X".
