To be honest I nuked Facebook at the height of farmville spam (I don't remember it being filterable at that time but could be wrong). Just couldn't care about Facebook anymore so deleted the account. So if its better now great, bu

I'd argue LibreSSL is already doing a better job because they are doing things that should have happened ages ago. Files from 1998 that were supposed to be removed when 1.0 was released? Should've been gone years ago. Code intersp

I hate Facebook for other reasons than Google. Farmville spam of yore comes to mind. Stupid permission changes constantly is another. I use iOS by the way. Still have a gmail account but that might not last long. Moving email is a bit harde

Yep, I grew up in ND, and my nearest non family neighbor was 7 miles away. This was pretty common. So if you parcel things up smaller than say 5 miles you'll miss people there pretty easily.

No gdb is bad for c++ debugging because it doesn't include parsing support for c++. At least I'm not aware of being able to type in c/c++ in gdb on the fly like you can with lldb contexts. So what exactly is "hip and coo

Its nothing big but basically amounts to adjusting how the source logic and defaults fits. The existing setup is a bit wonky and doesn't work in non bash very well. That and I have been hacking the init script to not always use sudo. I

No share point does not store history. Get a file above a certain size, and that magically just stops working. Every time I've seen share point used, everyone described it the same way. Its where documents go to die. So far at the curr

Same here, but the issue i have is that most books tend to be technical so that vastly limits the throughput. Regular books are pretty easy to get through. Unless they're written by Peter Hamilton.

I just updated gitlab from 6.0 to 6.7 at work this weekend. That it does indeed. Which reminds me I have to submit patches to their init script. Rails is OK, but damn is it a bit of a time suck.

Maybe its the best we can expect of a corporation. It is also a bit of a guess to be honest, maybe they aren't getting a good return on investment or who knows maybe they just don't feel like investing in them any longer.

Cool, i'm going to look at that gist for this years "try to learn haskell... again" attempt. :) I do it every year but hit io monads and my mind continually just has a core dump. Some year I hope to climb everest.

You know I'll say emacs is a great example of how its a great idea to make your "config" files a programming language. I'll also say it's a horrible idea to make your "config" files a programming language.
