While I don't disagree with the annoyance as to laying things on the left side, magsafe is more nice in that if you hit the cable or accidentally have torque on the charging cable it just disconnects, not causes a ton of pcb or connect

Honestly I would have said popcnt as well. Lookup table or bit shifts when I can have the cpu count the 1's? I guess i'd need to benchmark it to be sure. Either way I can't say its a good question.

It fits a certain narrative that certain groups want to promote about apple. The story just became a vehicle to vent about preexisting gripes about them. Note how you see statements like walled garden etc, when this can also be couched as r

So for languages like Haskell, or lets have fun and throw Idris in the mix too as its implemented in Haskell, what/how should they be changed to not have to bootstrap the way they do now so that reproducibility is preserved? For langua

ghc can compile to c to do bootstrapping, or a more standard 3 stage bootstrap. There are pros/cons to both approaches.

As someone that has done this to get ghc building on an unsupported platform, it really is the only sane way to approach this chicken/egg problem. I'm slightly surprised that .net doesn't have a cross compilation option.

I persist in using git mostly because it doesn't also mean I need to have python installed everywhere. I recognize this may be a minority reason, but that is a significant one. The rest amount to being able to rebase/reorder my co

Indeed, the F16 was originally designed for about 8 000 hours of service time. And most airframes appear to have lasted about 20 years. Once your aircraft gets to the point it will start to fail, why not use it as a few as a target?

Do you see a lot of connections in TIME_WAIT? If so I'd just bump up the ephemeral port range via: /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_local_port_range (or sysctl -w) But if you're not getting recycling of TIME_WAIT, yo

Yep, I'm willing to concede this isn't fully accurate. But if we don't have numbers at all its not even a point worth arguing. If anyone has other numbers please post them.

Yeah, kinetic energy recharge of a phone is a pipe dream, last time I remember figuring out how much energy you can get from that, it amounted to walking across the USA from coast to coast. Solar is equally crappy.
