It's the same, but only takes 5 minutes to setup. It provides more space than launchrock for content and explanations of your product/service. And it only costs what most people charge per hour/2 hours. I figured they would o

The page is the product, kind of. I think I have a lot more work to do on making it clear. Thanks and sorry for the confusion!

This took me maybe 4 hours, but over a weekend. Yes the price is pretty high, did you A/B test yours?

It will offer more, maybe the page wasn't very clear. Primarily, the landing pages will have that much content on, as oppose to the minimal launchrock page. I don't think there's enough information on the launchrock version.

Yes this is really what sparked the idea, I still get asked all the time to help setup a little one-pager (launchrock just isn't enough information) but I can't justify the time to do, hence a hosted option. Expanding that to just

The high price is really just a test - that failed. I'll try again with a much lower price or maybe just a free version (although I don't like that idea at all, it's still worth testing).

Yeah I noticed there's a lot of free versions, I just don't like their business model. Although trying to buck the trend when there's already free versions out there might be impossible, we'll see.

Not just a template - but I think the page doesn't make this clear enough yet as I've had similar feedback. Thanks.

I'm deadly serious. The 2 points you consider evidence of me "not having a clue" are including Bootstrap and jQuery? Are you serious? It's the first iteration - I've included the entire bootstrap lib for speed and e

"If you design for the web and then port to mobile, you will find that it is really hard to fit your UI onto the small screen." Then don't try make it fit. Try designing for it separately, since it's an entirely different experience. If you

I hope they're that smart. But I have a feeling they're just changing so often because they don't have any confidence in their abilities to design a good UI. On this basis, Metro has a couple of years before we see something completely diff

I don't think the unicorn designer myth is true. We exist, there's just lack of people willing to pay for it. I design and develop and still find it difficult to find work. As you mentioned, it's a cost issue. As an aside, I hate the idea o

I think that "good design" can be done by anyone, not just someone with a job title of "designer". The major design success that comes to mind is Google's homepage. Same with Facebook, the developer had an insight into what people wanted to

I can't wait until people doing start-ups realise that design should come first. Not only the aesthetics, but making it usable. Most start-ups I've worked for say they wished they had hired me when they had started, because there are so man
