That's all true, but there is a little bit of hope: One major cause for the current extreme gas prices is the fact that many EU countries are filling up their gas buffers now for the winter. So on top of the gas scarcity, there is als

The title says TerraForm Mars but the article itself only proposes a solution for directing more sunlight to the planet's surface. That is a very, very long way from terraforming. To really terraform Mars, it would for instance need an

+1, I have been looking for this as well. I'm keeping FB because I'm member of a few groups that really post interesting content. However my feed is flooded with random crap that FB hopes I might like better.

But eventually every one of use will lose it all; we are all mortals. So shouldn't we try to maximize happiness while we are alive? Risking it all could make sense if it leads to lots of happiness if it works out. It reminds me of the

The whole thing with touchscreens in cars reminds me of the touch bar in MacBooks. It's a nice looking gimmick if all you want is to show off but not suited for serious use.

@UIUC_06: sure, I agree. The lack of direct evidence is more often a problem in cosmology. Some even refuse to call cosmology a science because of that. But if all of them are speculative, then why refuse any other theory than the BB theory

As long as there is no direct evidence supporting the Big Bang theory, any other alternative is equally good IMO. The JSWT observations putting some doubt on the Big Bang theory are the observations of very old galaxies. E.g. one was observ

It's pretty much the Big Bang but not quite. The Big Bang theory claims more than that: it claims that our universe started from nothing or from a single point. It needs some fancy new physics to explain our current universe from that:

Yeah this is exactly what the world needs. Finally we have a killer use case for Bitcoin: allow Russia to circumvent Western European sanctions by burning fossil fuels and generating money to buy weapons for their war in Ukraine.
