Especially considering many home connections don't even have static ips any more. Websites can't tell whether or not the IP is static or dynamic; it would be pretty silly for them to use it too.

I'm running a normal installation; the largest package (nearly 500MB) is linux-vanilla. The included drivers are mostly what are hogging space. This goes back to the whole plug-and-play another person mentioned; there are a lot of supp

From what I understand, libressl was a fork of openssl resulting from a bunch of people who were pissed about heartbleed. Not being so dependent on one library is good, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the alternatives are better

Yep. I can tell you that currently, leading practice involves such measures. I don't agree, but CIS, which is essentially the current gold standard, says so. People who get paid to do this often don't bother griping about it, beca

I tend to agree with the people saying there's a problem in Google. But that said, I also think Google should have the right to say what can and can't be broadcast. Otherwise, you make the company transmit, broadcast, and dissemin

No, we deem that the return after a certain point is smaller than the return when invested elsewhere. That does not mean we accept or condone crime. I know someone who lives in Houston. Houston is the "human trafficking capital of the

Bankruptcy doesn't always mean going out of business. And the IP is still probably good, and likely going to be liquidated and sold on to someone else (who will hopefully start a new business with the tech).

Yes, they can get it. However, government can get more data to start with. Or at least, that has been the case: I'm incredibly worried about self-driving cars. This is not for the usual reasons (safety etc.): I am concerned that they r
