Not to be too rude but has your wife tried simply, well, not checking her phone after work? IMO most of these smartwatches are adding to the problem of constant interruptions, not solving it.

From what I've seen iOS 7 runs pretty well on the 4S.

His reasons are bullshit. I don't care how frustrated you are, learn to control your emotions. Its very much possible to be direct without being an ass. Probably more effective too.

That's just not true. People forget that before smartphones we use to make applications that worked on lots of resolutions. It's not a new thing. In fact what Google is doing is fantastic. They provide the tools to make your app h

They could be useful for sport activities. For eg: I could maybe see it replacing my cycling computer if it provided a heart rate monitor + support for extra speed/cadence/power sensors via ANT+ or Bluetooth LE

My experience has been the opposite. In fact there were couple of articles with evidence of android apps being more stable than their iOS versions [0]. The difference wasn't large however. Its the same case with battery life. It seems

I'm from Australia. There are a couple of low cost alternatives here for the moment. The plan I am on gives me 1.5gb/mo and pretty much unlimited talk/text for my use. When I was in Canada/US I couldn't really find

At this point both devices do the core functionality just as well as each other (email, browsing and maps). Android still has better "Google" integration which is important for me. Also I have gotten use to paying $350 for a Nexus

Not only that I believe Google contacted most of the popular SMS devs when they made huge changes to the SMS content providers in Kit Kat (which are private). They didn't really need to but did to let them know of the changes.

It's exciting to think that for the younger people now those sorts of issues are likely to be "fixed" when they get older.

Personally I find OsmAnd to be truly awful. The interface is stuck in the Android 1.6 era and I can't even get the online maps to show anything. Offline maps are nice but not that useful unless I am travelling overseas and don't b

That's a great post, thanks for that. I'm currently using basically Amazon * for everything and was looking into docker a little bit yesterday. For a two man team I think I will continue to stick with Amazon since my strength is n

iOS doesn't support custom pop up windows outside of your app. Which means for an IM app you need to be running it for a popup to appear (sort of making the whole popup window pretty useless IMO). On Android you can display a custom po

I'm from Australia as well. I lived in Canada for a while and we use to joke that when there was snow there'd be signs saying you can't play in the snow.

I don't think 'safe mode' is an Android thing. Are you referring to a Sony device? They seem to have some sort of safe mode.

I manage to use the Nexus 7 (2013) with one hand. I had a Nexus 10 before and it was barely used. The Nexus 7 gets used for hours almost every day.

I think this is completely reasonable. If people want to sideload the app then by all means go for it. The Play Store shouldn't allow apps that can potentially damage your device (or void your warranty).

I can play my Xbox360 / PS3 games just fine without installing them. So a 'next-gen' console has a worse experience in that regard. The excitement of a new toy is significantly reduced when you have to wait a couple of hours

As usual Anandtech has one of the best reviews. My only complaint is the CPU benchmarks are more or less useless. I understand there aren't any good cross platform benchmarks right now but using JS benchmarks is completely inaccurate.

I am also pretty disappointed with Chrome these days. I switched to Safari because it's just way smoother/faster for me. It's annoying because the sluggishness is still evident on Android.
