Exactly. It's actually great that DevDays was able to charge only $99 AND compensate speakers and workers+! It actually means they one-upped Defcon in that regard. BlackHat-caliber conferences, as you imply, will come over time as Defcon-ca

I have never heard of this event until now. I would love to attend something like this. How/where was this event marketed? Also, $99 sounds like a great price entry point. Defcon started out on the cheap, and a few years later spawned Black

I don't quite understand the fallacy. If there is a spike in broken windows -- more than the cleanup crew can handle -- new people need to be hired. How is this not creating new jobs?

The irony, of course, is that people's economic hardships are creating jobs. Which means there's enough money in foreclosures alone to warrant having an employee to evaluate the extent of foreclosures. It's sickening.

For the record, Serbia and Montenegro didn't become just Montenegro; it split into two countries, Serbia AND Montenegro.

Hey, thanks for the pics, I appreciate your effort behind your explanations. Good point about it being porous and prone to infection - I guess that's the unique thing about prosthetic eyes: they are worn both inside and outside the body, so

Still to this day, Alt-F is engrained in my head. "Alt-F-S" for saving, actually. I use it all the time. On a Mac. I always get annoyed at myself when I search for the letter "S"

Actually, copy/paste makes a lot of sense. Having to frequently copy or move files from one place to another, I got used to ctrl-c or -x a file, then go to a different directory, and ctrl-v. The appeal, I think, is that I don't have to use

Good point. I would look at wireless sound devices that fit inside the ear canal (if there are such things). My hunch is that hearing loss is more common than loss of eyeballs, so there are probably more experimental devices and more studie

That's interesting. Is it mostly scar tissue inside the eye socket, then? Also, I would have thought one takes out the prosthetic eye when going to sleep, like a contact lens. But if bruising is a problem, why aren't they made from softer /

Which means it won't be sold by Apple. It's a shame too, because it's the first true iProduct. Edit: I am a bad man. On a serious note, I wonder what the power source actually is? WiFi and video must take a lot of juice to run... Also, is a

Thanks. It's a little dance-y, but pretty good (can't argue with that price either :) I will throw one back at you: Fantastic Plastic Machine. Pretty interesting mixing -- I would describe it as a Japanese version of Fatboy Slim.

In television, like in life, you have to look for the gems that make up quality programming. I recently ran across a show where Stephen Hawking talked about the existence of God and black holes. Awesome program. After the show finished, it

The first time I heard Steve Jobs' voice a few months ago, I was really taken aback by how much of a nerdy voice he had. Strangely, I give him a lot more respect because of it. I imagined he would be one of those sly-talking, politician-typ
