For abstract descriptions of what the code does, sure. But for small things like documenting the purpose of arguments, an IDE should warn about changes that are not reflected in the doc comment (type or a new arg altogether). IntelliJ IDEs

Tree sitter is used in Atom and is replacing Textmate grammars. In fact, tree sitter recently got s-expression query support, which will replace the old CSS selector syntax. So atom is already in the second generation of tree sitter support

Running with sccache drastically reduces build times. I suspect rust is using it to accelerate builds with it's s3 backend. I'm using the Azure storage backend for my GitHub action builds. Even on simple projects (3k LOCs, dozen c

Sorry I don't recall. I was in a random webring rabbit hole and don't feel like going through a hundred entries in my history :D. It was just a link though, with no note next to it.

Hey thanks for chiming in. I discovered this on someone's tilde blog. If you can think of a more descriptive title, let me know and I'll update it.

Yep. You can take MPS today and implement an AST projection that looks like whatever you want. No parsing involved, impossible to even write syntactically invalid code (since it is not code you're writing, but an AST projection).

Read past the title. This is pretty amusing satire. Quote: > Bernie Sanders is redefining the purpose of politics in the United States. We would like to preserve politics as a domain to conduct business, protect our class interests, mate

I usually hate these kinds of comments but I have to: Please check out dev.to. It's a minimal, fast, developer focussed blogging platform. It's open source, and quite active.

Yeah it works well. I also sometimes push code into the db for faster execution (sorry on mobile, can't detail now). Haven't tested out Geo replication though, but it's pretty straightforward. Clock drift maximum and all that
