I am surprised how post like these hasn't got viral yet and how Streisand effect hasn't taken place yet. I thought social media and media as such would have taken it immediately.

I wonder if YouTube is getting too big for Google to handle or not. I pay for YouTube premium but find YouTube slow and buggy most of time. YouTube's latest app often break existing functionality. And all features of YouTube premium ar

I guess fake till you make it is name of the game these days. But if that is really the case why did we vilify companies like Theranos or Edison. I have often wondered if I should do it at work as well.

I guess the consensus I can draw from this post is that is it's never worth the effort to disclose security vulnerabilities.... Feels kind of an American thing.

I have very unique name for which no domains would exist until I searched on GoDaddy. After a few days it was taken. This happened in 2017 so this is definitely not new.

Once you get big you change your priorities. There is no reason the same can't happen to hacker news either. If they start allowing low quality shitpost. Right now I assume with the amount of traffic here, it doesn't cost lot of m

Well getting rid of daylight saving time will be one step to that.

Can you give me one good reason why you need to change time at all? Because you have been doing it for hundreds of years isn't a good reason. You can always wake up early if you need to do so. In today's day and age it makes no se

>The paper also argues that standard time aligns more naturally with our circadian rhythm... but doesn't bother to compare that with the psychological benefit we get from hanging out with friends in daylight after work in the summer

Regulations are for protecting the people and ensuring no monopoly takes place. Just because no laws exist now doesn't mean there shouldn't be. The choice the companies should have is either you follow those regulations or don

Reddit is now in a position where they pull a Digg and not suffer the consequences of Digg meaning they can be considered too big to fail. I guess this can allow them to pull whatever they want. Break api used by Android developer. Shove me

I have been using Sync and joey on android for years. Never used the official app. I dunno if eventually Reddit removes all api eventually that makes these app not work anymore. If that happens I will probably not use reddit again.

Can I buy shares of Chinese companies when I am not a Chinese citizen? Until that happens I am not buying what you are saying.

I think China already promised that one or two years ago during the trade war with US but nothing major has come of it. I doubt China would follow through because it can have potential consequence in their censorships rules. I guess eventua

With Adblockers you can selectively block add blocking on sites you want to see adds on. This way you can choose where to block adds and where not to.

Why do I even have to trust Apple and physics here? Why can't Apple just provide a physical lid for the camera to disable it. Why even take that chance.

Because of trade deficit that is already in China's favour. I assume banning these companies means further actions on China's part that will impact India even harder.

In a democratic country there are steps you can take against the company. With China everything is a black box. There are explicit rules that forbid you from taking any action against them. China itself has banned tiktok in their country.

Do we have a website with list of all Chinese websites and apps that we can have a look and not install them ? I wonder if all this is applicable to Taiwanese companies as well or not.
