I think part of the issue with Linux for a casual user can be perfectly illustrated in this HN thread. The comments are filled with endless recommendations for different packages that do the same thing. Choice is great and part of the Linux

Thanks, this looks good feature wise. I am a bit concerned by the dated look of the site and screenshots. It is not cheap either, at $249. Fortunately, they have a trial so I can kick it around and see if it is worth it.

I don’t see how. Popular videos show ads what feels like every other minute. I find myself zoning out staring at the bottom right where the Skip Ad button shows up and I can’t even recall a single ad I’ve ever seen on YouTube.

It wouldn’t put anyone at risk if we held lenders to a legal standard of proof that YOU signed a contract asking for money. It might be inconvenient but not compared to being stuck with debts you never agreed to.

Obviously the company behind this doesn't care about PR or maybe it's just horribly mismanaged. Either way, I think Apple should offer consumers some form of protection. What's to stop other developers from turning paid apps
