That is exactly what I thought when I saw what had been posted. I have a feeling that we have a generation of developers whose work makes sense on a small scale or in the short term, but becomes ridiculous with growth and/or age.

Thank you, Pieter, for making your ideas public. I learned many valuable lessons from your designs, all the way back to Libero and the SFL. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Well put. Also, the developers (at least when I was involved with it) had a thing for repeatedly changing internals such that new developments (most importantly, security-related developments) required orders of magnitude more ability in a

I had the misfortune to use Drupal a while ago. It seemed like a very convenient and powerful way to get an extremely full-featured and rich site up quickly. It was only after attempting one of the frequently-required updates that I reali

The info could be very valuable. Or it could be not valuable at all. It could be inflammatory. It could be dead wrong. Remember, you are not your down votes. Or your up votes. Share the things you'd like to share. Hopefully, someo

I was burned by a hardware vendor on Indiegogo. All that it took for the person running the campaign to remain (indifinitely) in compliance was to regularly keep us updated on project progress. Of which there was none. So we'd regul

I got a "for life" server years ago. I didn't expect it to really be for my life, but I at least hoped it would be for the life of the company. It wasn't. Oh well. At least I got a few years out of it and learned neve
