Failed to meet deadline for release (not enough confidence that we can release without regressions) so release got pushed to next release window which is n - 1 days from now. I imagine ideally we should use tags for release but for some rea

I’m guilty of doing things wrong. Let’s say the cto has said no merge to master until after n days. I have a few defects that I need to work on that are in the same files. Ideally, one should make a different branch for each defect. However

I think PHP is a fine language if you are working on an existing application or are building on top of symfony but I’ll begin second guessing all your design decisions if you increase the default execution time of php from thirty seconds to

My understanding of Jira is that it by itself does not suck but it bends over backwards for asinine “business processes” so it is difficult to find an implementation in the wild that does not suck.

I remember seeing an HN comment from someone who runs an online fax thing. I wish I had saved the comment when I saw it. Basically you can just fax stuff from your computer for a small fee.

I would think they can at least do it for MacBooks. I mean I distinctly remember my MacBook from 2006 had a removable battery and just removing the battery exposed the storage and the memory. The price we paid was a slightly thicker MacBook

Absolutely. If you go by the marketing, all of aws staff is now potentially working for you when you use aws. You could say this means if any of the aws employees is compromised, so are you. As a contractor, all my code goes through a code

Knowing the multiplication table is such steaming nonsense. I know 7x10 is 70 so half of that, 7x5 is 35. I can add seven to 35 fast enough that I don't have to memorize 7x6 is 42. Memorizing is not knowing.
