Any evidence of software gains from OSX? Hardware is hardware, so the pretty Mac Pro box isn't worth much, when the same hardware is available elsewhere. Perhaps it makes the employees feel more important at work. That said, a couple

For me at least, I'm at one cup, but still get withdrawal symptoms if I don't have it. Is there any way to meter this down? Maybe just dump out half the cup?

For my anecdote, I drink 1 cup a day, and then possibly a soda or tea at a meal. It hits me hard after 24 hours without any.

Just install Tortoise SVN. Create a repository on your shared server, and then add a folder on your local machine to the repository. When you commit a file, you'll have a diff option, as well as locks and everything else you get.

Wasn't this problem already solved by Sharepoint and SVN? If I do a diff from SVN at work, it automatically brings up the compare documents screen in Word. If your company is of any decent size you have a server of your own, so what&#x

There are many releases of Ubuntu for almost each DE. For example, I'm running Ubuntu gnome edition, but there's Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Kubuntu, and then more specific things like Studio Edition, Mythbuntu, Ubuntu Touch, Ubuntu TV.

Do those 50% believe the system is working as intended and is not being exploited by special interests? I don't think any republican or democrat agrees with that.

What if laws are considered whitelists? If it's a whitelist then if not directly stated it's thrown out. This may slow the legislative process, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it was actually the founders primary goa

I don't see why data rendundacy and backup would require device rendundancy - especially for the common person. After all, I don't have two lights in every room in my house just in case a light bulb blows, I just buy a pack of lig

haha, no. It was meant as a quasi-joke. I'd like to see one though. Certain laws are very cut-and-dry (speeding for instance) and perhaps laws could be proven on a functional basis. You could even make it axiomatic from the constituti

Right, those are exactly the questions that need to be asked, discussed before implementation, and then included in the law if it passes. What meta-data is truly anonymous and what is not? Is the agency permitted to built a tool to de-anon

That's all hand-waving. The courts won't allow it, the giants know that, so the internet giants use it as a chance to look good. Furthermore, it benefits the NSA for us all to think that Google, Yahoo, et. al., are not in their

I wonder if Congress uses any sort of version control. The text of these bills are written by - staffers and sometimes lobbyists, so I'm not sure how it would work.

Not really, as part of making the law - congress needs to go through all possible interpretations and rule out the ones not in the spirit of the law one by one. Then the law is defined by its tests. Is it okay to collect all XYZ data? Is i

Interesting that many of those things have converged in the form of portable computing already. Would you have said that a phone should not have a camera? Or a phone should not try to do scheduling? Be an alarm clock? etc.
