I've returned to university recently. We're learning Make in one of my classes at the moment ("learning" Make seems so weird to me). When going over dependency graphs I couldn't stop thinking of how awesome `go mod

I have two bash scripts that set things appropriately -- laptop.sh and desktop.sh. Xrandr, xinput, xset things. There's probably a better way to handle this but it's not inconvenient enough to make me figure it out (or duckduckgo

I've been using plain JavaScript more and more lately. Luckily Element.protoype has this nice property where if you attempt to read some setter functions it will throw, making it cake to implement a chainable createElement. Fun stuff,

First few days were great! Fortan was interesting (...) and wow that C++ was not the same beast I used in college. Then uh... kind of got sidetracked.

It's incredibly annoying. I've built out my own mobile website for interfacing with Reddit because of it. Update after update the mobile.reddit.com keeps becoming harder to use.

The only outlets I see DFW discussed regularly online are a few subreddits + 4chan's lit board. I think it may be these location rather than the author. I met a few people in college who shared my love for DFW who I thought were perfec

They've chosen to act w/ private accounts, muted accounts, muted words, and blocked accounts. Personally, I find muted words a powerful feature but perhaps my story is a bit different as I don't find myself targeted by hate t

I'll second this. Picked up a used X1 Carbon ThinkPad a few weeks ago and the trackpad is the second best I've used (right behind the 2015 mbp). At the $500 price I picked this thing up for I cannot complain.

I would love to see a comparison between Docker Swarm and Kubernetes. From talking to peeps I've got that Kubernetes is better for a large number of nodes? I self host all my side projects with Docker Swarm and it's been so good I

SICP, ANSI CL, and Real World OCaml. Nothing related to my day job in JS land, just fun reading material for my free time.

Interesting, and real nice! I built something similar for my raspberry pi cluster with docker swarm (albeit no testing and tailored to my use case). Kicking myself for not making "production ready" and posting here now.

If you're on Buster or newer I would look into it. If Stretch and prior you'll get a very outdated version that is not as customizable. I'm on Buster currently. It was as easy as installing budgie-desktop and restarting.
