If you look at how the infrastructure for managing dead bodies has held up in places where covid hit the hardest, it's pretty clear that many more people are dying than normal. If we were just shifting the cause of death from an exis

This seems a lot more like an ad for their products or ideas than a breakdown of great examples of practical designs. I was hoping for examples I could learn from.

The standard mouse hardware allows you to move the digital pointer relative to it's current position. That means you know need to know where the digital pointer is, and that's 100% visual. You could set up audio cues too give loca

One big issue with a mouse is that it's completely unusable for blind users. A touch tablet interface with a 1:1 mapping to points on the screen is significantly more accessible since you don't need visual feedback to know where y

The supply of jobs is still way above the available workers. A lot of people conflate coding jobs with valley, FAANG, or startup jobs. The reality is that every industry, institution, and every company is in the process of migrating their b

I think the devil is in the details with this type of data hand off. If there's no PII in the first batch of phones, just location and a unique ID, it doesn't seem intrusive compared to the benefit. Law enforcement would need to m

One of the biggest employee complaints at almost every tech company I've worked at is a lack of work life balance. Most of my friends who still work in the bay struggle with having a life outside of work. Wanting to work 40 hours a wee

FB would have to not give personally identifying info (PII) to the app in the first place. The main reason apps (from a user's perspective) need PII are 1) Display it to you or someone else in the app, or 2) perform a calculation or ac
