For those who don't know, all the wonderfulness of Logo is there because Logo is a Lisp dialect. Like they say in the ads, "If you like Logo, try Lisp!" PS: Logo changed my life and made me want to be a programmer. PPS: We cu

Have you tried Vite[0]? It's an amazing dev server I learned about in an HN post. It does a fabulous job of TS transpilation and has many other niceties for dev work. BTW, with modern browsers, why would you need to transpile JS (as op

How can the most popular language in the history of computing be abandoned in less than a year? There is more code right now running JS than there is in all other languages combined.

I love JS. JS and its big brother TS are my #1 choice for front end development. What I hate about them is two things: 1. Rules for semicolons. Sometimes you feel like a nut; sometimes you don't. 2. = and ==. Ugh. The Bug Maker. 3. + f

Let me get this straight... the government patents something that looks and behaves exactly like the Tic Tac craft (including going in and out of water). Then, vehicles like this are spotted in military training areas. Notice that they are

This makes sense. Forza Horizon 4 with all the money and servers Microsoft can throw at it only supports 79 live humans in the same session. It seems like a small number but with all the real-time variables from cars and liveries to backgro

Nothing in the history or current path of AI would suggest that human communication can be represented by an algorithm. Every attempt to program human communication results in stilted, unnatural prose that must be carefully curated and edit

I think you've made my point. If you unload free movies as gifts for people who buy other stuff from you... maybe the movie business isn't really for you? :-)

Say goodbye to a storied brand. This is another example of a FAANG company that is too greedy to stick to their core competencies. A comedian once called Amazon Prime "the 7th best way to watch television," which I thought was pre

This seems like a terrible idea. They have no competencies in this area and talk about late to the party! Microsoft spent years and millions of dollars getting to where they are in gaming. Google can't catch up. Amazon is a non-starte

Yes, we're building a production app[0] with them. So far, I think they're great. Far preferable to Angular which we used previously. [0] https://mimix.io/en/blog/msl-notebook

Running your own email server is a security nightmare. It's almost asking to get hacked. I wouldn't recommend that in most cases.

We've used ProtonMail for two years on the Visionary (largest) plan with multiple custom domains and super tight security settings that no regular mailbox can offer. I'd definitely recommend it.
