Yea I am signalling the moral high ground because HN is full of fucking sociopaths who want to live forever so they can execute their dumb ass startup until the heat death of the universe or learn new languages - at the expense of completel

Can we add a rule that people don't post stupid bullshit that isn't true?

Ironically, the whole point of the 'fountain of eternal youth' stories is that people wasted their entire lives looking for it rather than enjoying life / what they were given. Age extension technology is going to be the doom

Work as a contractor, charge a lot of money - more than you feel comfortable saying out loud but say it anyway. That way, you can work for shorter spurts and just focus on getting shit done. Then, take the minimum amount you need to sustain

If you want to be incredibly vain, sure. I think we'll see a huge backlash to artificial age reduction / life extension, much in the same way that plastic surgery / cosmetic enhancement is viewed as an indulgent activity.

In the movie "Soylent Green" (the book its based on is different, in fact I don't even think there's cannibalism in it) there are a variety of meal-replacement foodstuffs known as Soylent, including red and yellow, that

What advantage does Soylent have over say, other meal replacements e.g. Slimfast, weight watcher shakes, juices etc that have existed for years before it and will continue to do so for years after? All I see is SV hype and marketing. In fac

Uh except Organovo is trying to solve a much harder problem and has been around for a while AND has proven success? What point are you trying to make besides superficial snark because some funding numbers quoted in the article are similar?

Yep you're right, everyone employed by Southwest to research and implement this apparently crucial detail of airline travel has no idea what they are doing and totally fucked up. I honestly think hacker news should implement a feature

Rejection sucks. I was fired from a job I hated and it did not help my self-esteem at all heh. Also a lot of the time firings / layoffs happen around bonus payout times so it hurts the head and the wallet.
