Once there is a critical mass, there is less need to close. Also, in fiat banking, Argentinians had their pesos devalued 4 to1 overnight. Zero chance to withdraw in that case.

Exactly. If additional security is needed it can be applied in layers e.g., container sandboxing. If updates are forced old/infrequently used content will simply be broken/not accessible.

This may be more related to rapid liquidation of holdings which does affect the short term. Long term it should average out.

In my experience, informing the bank of travel makes no difference. They block regardless even when I inform and even for foreign charges that appear with regular frequency.
