I'm just playing devil's advocate here... Your argument for "open software/hardware" doesn't apply here. There was an exploit found in almost 6+ year old hardware/software. Has nothing to do with the fact

I've been playing around with the API and tools for the last hour. Seems pretty cool. Very easy to understand and very straightforward. It sure is nice to be able to share code/language between the client and the server. If not fo

Awful. I worked for a marketing/search company once and they loved to exlpoit the image loading hack to track users and validate email addresses. I don't know why Google would turn this on. There are just too many downsides for a

Yeah, I made the mistake and responding to it here. I have since deleted my comment. I really need to filter what I read more.

0P probably means don't create/use a lot of classes, use a lot of static methods, globals, memory maps, arrays, enums, primitives, and try to reuse objects. Other than that totally uninformed answer, I dunno.

I would say (which means: IMHO) that it's because the UI "is" the OS to 99%+ of the world. We developers, geeks, tinkerers, etc. know what an OS is. But to the end user, it's what they see on the screen. It's what t

The real key is to not use the same email address across accounts. If you have your own domain, then it's easy. I actually don't like the idea of using email addresses as user IDs. I believe that was a lazy approach in the first p

That's actually a very unadvisable scheme. By doing this you make yourself a target. If any one of those are compromised, attackers will attempt to try that against a lot of popular sites (including banks). If you have your own domain

It's beautiful but unusable at the moment. Hopefully that will get worked out. I'd really like to experience it when it's ready.

The upgrade price is cheaper. If you bought a personal license, the upgrade price is $99 and not $199. If you bought a commercial license the upgrade price is $299 rather than $499. I'm guessing you purchased a personal license because

If we'd get to it and get IPv6 up, the business of selling static IPs should become a very unprofitable as there would be a virtually unlimited supply of IPs. Why is this not happening?!?

Wow, horrible article. It was more like an attack on people who like the iPad, and the iPad tablet market itself, rather than the issue (fire) at hand. Dude starts out by insulting people (the term fanbois is not a term of endearment) who m

For all those calling this a "hack", it is not. It is simply a "man in the middle" attack. It is wrong. It is a total violation of trust. It is gross.

I am not sure why there has to be a "war". McDonalds may be the largest burger 'restaurant' but that doesn't mean they are the best. I have a feeling anyone can make a better burger (or tofu burger) than McDonalds.
