Any way to disable the „auto correct“ feature? No, I don’t want to search for „mind journey“, I want to search for „midjourney“. Without additional clicks please. But apart from that I really like it, thanks for offering a real alternative

The satellite probably has two processor modules. With A being active the software image for B gets uplinked via telecommands and then written to memory. Then the satellite is being rebooted using processor module B with the new software. I

That would probably depend on the the cache hit/miss ratio.

My question was meant rhetorically, but I guess there might be some even more interesting exceptions to this out there.

There should be no cost. Which game will constantly use DNS to resolve addresses after being launched?

Latency has a big impact on user experience in most multiplayer games and players with a low latency have an advantage in many games. I am not sure how satisfied people will be with low cost low powered systems made for game streaming in th

Of course, it solves a lot of problems. But you have to pay for it by increasing the load on the servers by orders of magnitude. This makes it a brute force approach in my opinion. This is of course depending on your meaning of „elegant“, b

How is that elegant? In return for easy synchronization the server has to perform ALL computations. Sounds more like brute force to me.

Tried a lot of settings, but with enabled network I never got the standby power consumption down. It should also be expected that the TV uses the advertised amount of energy in standby mode with the default settings, which was really not th

And despite these rules my Sony TV (KD-65XG9505) bought in 2019 uses 20 to 30 watts in standby. Only disabling the internal Wi-Fi and restarting it gets this down to about 1 watt. This seems to be a very common problem with Sony TVs and I h

I am surprised to read that Safe Mode did not automatically disable all non essential systems. That seems to be very risky behavior.

You really wouldn't want to know, whether there are superintelligent beings here that are watching us, or not? And do you really think, that we wouldn't put a LOT of effort into researching another inhabited planet if we had the o

Some Netflix series are really bad in this regard. Sometimes the upper and lower part of the picture are really blurry. Maybe they do this to achieve a more cinematic look? But to me it feels like forced tunnel vision and it makes me really

No, I am not sure about the delay. But the app informed me a few times about things that were happening (fires, bomb disposals) that I would otherwise not have know about. And it looks like the delay yesterday was actually caused by the ba

Yes, that’s what I tried to say. Not a native speaker ;) Not so easy to implement this the right way I guess. For local emergencies the German app solution seems to work adequately, but for big emergencies the cell broadcast should definite

Until the 90s the sirens in west Germany were also used for civil defense purposes. After the Cold War the system was dismantled on federal level and only some cities have it now.

Very good question. I also read about another city (can’t remember which) that could have used the sirens, but didn’t, because the test happens already on other dates. I really expected much more from this test. Feels like we are living in

Neither has Bremen, or a lot of other cities. Justifications seem to be that sirens are not suitable to alert only certain districts, and that a siren going off is not enough to communicate what exactly is happening. Pretty flimsy I think,

Cell broadcast is not foreseen to be used in Germany. And my guess is that this „Warntag“ was introduced to prove that the German approach to notify its citizens in these situations (smartphone app, sirens, radio and tv broadcasts) is suffi

You can easily integrate Zigbee devices. The Aqara or Xiaomi door/window sensors for example are cheap and pretty nice.

What’s the agenda here? To calm people down? Statistically this thing might even cause some deaths if enough people see it. We will see how the numbers change when our health care systems have to operate beyond their capacities.
