Since the people there chose the same path as me, they were in fact more similar to me (similar demographics, hobbies, ...).

How do you know people do not care? There are billions of people with phones without enough space and slow or almost nonexistent internet access. They are just not vocal about it.

When I was on the front page of HN, IIRC it meant about 5k visits in an hour. How can such a low number kill a webpage... Or do other on the front page experience much higher traffic?

Of course they have no way to get btc-e's bitcoins, unless Vinnik tells them the private key, which I bet he will. So it's basically US stealing from people, yet again.

What about ordinary people who had money/bitcoins/other cryptocurrency on btc-e? What will happen with money in btc-e's wallets?

Vanilla Unity tooling is a joke. Of course it's enough for most games. Store solves some issues, but not all.

It's counterproductive. It comes to the point where I do not read anything from certain sites. Diversity is nice, but it does not mean that someone, who has little knowledge in certain area, should write an article from the area.

Does anybody here have "D version 5" compiled? I would like to compare it with my naive C++ version.

Example: 1. I have 0 bitcoins, price is $1250 2. Price drop 20% to $1000 3. I buy 1bitcoin for $1000 4. Price rise to $1200 5. I sell at $1200, earning 20%, not 40% Am I missing something?

That looks useful. I do not know F#, but can't you still use ordinary float and have the same bug?

You can write the exact same wrong code in e.g. C# public class Meters { public int x; } public class Yards { public int x; } public class Kilograms { public int x; } Meters m = ... Yards y = ... Kilograms k = ... k.x = m.x

It's hard to discuss this without using any specific "type-safe" language. 1. you can have the same problem in type-safe language, since it will probably have cast to int too 2. do not use builtin operators in C for that, ins

If I say: "There are all these bugs in curl, you should rewrite it in rust and it will be better (but I've never done anything similar, nor there is any scienetific proof for what I am saying)" then it's not thoughtful c

You can do that in C struct Meters { int value; }

Mars Climate Orbiter was lost because they forgot to convert units between different systems. That's an error that can (and probably would) be done in all type-safe languages I know of.

I know very well what UB is and I bet there is not a single big program which does not have undefined behaviour. I even rely on UB sometimes, because with well defined set of compilers and systems, it's in reality well defined. I was t

Let's take some safe language, e.g. c# 1. object should not exist and the second free is incorrect In C# I can have to variables pointing to the same object, I null only one of them. The second should be nulled too, but it's not.

Double free is not necessary a C issue, but it can be also a program logic issue - I expect to have an object, but it's already deleted. So it's one of 1. object should not exist and the second free is incorrect 2. object should e
