Believing climate change is happening isn’t pessimism though, neither are almost any of the other things you mentioned. Thinking a particular solution won’t work isn’t pessimism. Thinking all solutions won’t work or humans just aren’t cap

Sadly, I don't think that will change any opinions, particularly of people suspicious of "the man". May ironically make it worse.

I'm not a supporter of homeopathic medicine, but I'd be curious to know the research on half the other stuff in the medical aisle. OTC pain medicines have famously little power vs placebo for instance.

I think you understate the value of the placebo effect in medical treatment, especially for certain types of treatments, i.e. pain and psychological treatment. I'm not saying we should treat infectious diseases that way, but the place

It's Malcom Gladwell so take it with a grain of salt, but his episode on The Satire Paradox was great: https://www.pushkin.fm/podcasts/revisionist-history/the-sati... The premise is that despite Satire being

I’ve noticed in my life I really limit my “must-dos”. In fact I may only have one. I have to run the four or so days a week I plan to. Too much structure I think doesn’t leave enough slack time and then too often does the inverse of what

Your deathbed mindset is a pretty short time to have to endure to optimize your entire life around. Especially compared to the hundred or so years you have to live through.

I love the micropayments idea for consumers, but I suspect it would be really hard to get businesses on board, similarly to how music companies lost money when moving from albums to individual songs, and now streaming.
