Why are companies happy to sell me a "dumb" monitor, but won't sell me a TV unless it includes a bunch of fragile "smart" features? Because “Smart Features” are a Trojan horse for giving the TV manufacturers ongoi

Unless you legitimately fall under those exceptions it’s generally viewed as best not try to skirt the WARN act you’ll end up with a bunch of lawsuits to defend and pretty harsh penalties if you lose (back pay up to the time of the award pl

You can absolutely throw live video on a CDN at which point the bandwidth cost is the same as on demand video. The real-time encoding costs are the real issue.

Honestly I don’t think this is the fundamental question in this case. It’s buried a bit by the lede but IMO the more fundamental question is whether AI models can be trained off of publicly available, copyrighted content without compensatin

We will always be beholden to Sketch for finally killing off Photoshop as a primary app UI tool. Dear god I’m so glad the days of Layer Comps are behind us.

First party cookies are how you’re authenticated on a website. They (or an equivalent mechanism) is the only way to save state and create the concept of a “session”.

It is really an odd flex. As soon as you need a transpiler, which many modern JS devs are going to want and need for the benefits they provide (Typescript being huge) then using JSX seems a benefit not a problem to solve.

It’s not NPMs job to secure your repo. They provide the tools to protect it. It’s your job as a maintainer to not shoot yourself in the foot.

NPM optionally enforces 2FA. You can create an automation token to bypass it. In that case depending on how branches are protected a push to the right branch can publish a new package. https://github.blog/changelog/20

Note, I didn’t say that it had to be relative to other CEO salaries. It has to be competitive to any other position that a candidate has available to them. What would Mitchell make as an SVP at a FAANG company? What could they make as a

CEO salaries aren’t, and never have been, relative to the rank and file salaries. The question is how much you need to be to get a competent executive relative to the open market. You can argue whether they’re getting what they’re paying fo

The reason is not “solved” is that everyone has a different “problem” so it’s impossible to solve for all of them. Businesses solve for their use case using the the solution that fits their constraints. Having a multitude of “solutions” is
