I'm a bit guilty of this myself - I tend to use this in emails, when trying to give the feel of an informal conversation. So... I'm curious what you think about this case? ;)

I'll agree with much of this - but after 8 years living in London and now in Manchester, the 'objective horribleness' of British food is now about 15-20 years out of date. Back in the day, sure - man, how my parents could tel

Powerful, powerful piece - thanks for sharing. As an American living in England, it's especially interesting reading of a Brit's experience in my home country. I'm not black, and have been given the benefits of good schools,

"Ultimately, I think the real moral is that more companies should do their own thing, even if that thing is not great in the abstract. Being different carries a value of its own, and it breeds biodiversity that's healthy for the s

Thanks for sharing! Interesting thing is that until now, Uber has been paying the drivers' fines for operating illegally while waiting for the court case to be resolved.

Gah - I'm with you... y'all fits the bill in so many ways - I love the way it sounds when my Southern friends say it. I just can't get away with using it and not feeling a little contrived. We definitely need a plural, inform

Absolutely - and this trend is only accelerating... as Americans, we're surrounding ourselves more and more with people of a similar world view. I can see how it happens (and I'm the same, with the vast majority of my friends and

Any other day, I would be full of passion about yet another attempt to subvert what 81% of folks want and the FCC has put in place... but today? Man, I'm just so completely unsurprised. Le grand sigh. :(

As someone living in the UK, I'm a huge fan - BBC's compulsory licensing for TV pays for a wide range of content from TV to radio, all top-notch... especially Radio 6 - a wonderful way to discover new music free from commercial co

Also there are so many other models out there - artists can get dedicated fans to subscribe to each new piece of content they create on sites like Patreon.com (founded by a YouTube musical duo tired of the pennies they were receiving). Pret

Absolutely - I'm a huge fan of Lightroom, especially with using a plug-in like Silver FX. Not sure about the other photographers out there - but I probably on turn to Photoshop for 5% of my shots at most.

Sigh. I wish I could summon up the will to be a bit more insightful - but after reading yet another ill-advised attempt to crack down on service providers for user-generated content...

Far, far too much truth in this... I laughed/snorted drinking my coffee when I read about their 'deeply disruptive, data-driven, venture-backed, gluten-free economic meritocracy'.
