Not sure if this has been replicated or is being scaled up, but it looks promising at face value. https://www.dcceew.gov.au/climate-change/publications/from-b...

VCs invest other people’s money from funds they raise, thus removing “skin in the game”. The risk they bare may be reputational at best. Hedging bets with others peoples money is not real risk taking.

> With Tailwind, you're not caught up in understanding the relationship between CSS and HTML which includes challenges like inheritance. I’m sorry but to really learn CSS, you need to get this. The fact the TW abstracts this away

I just watched a talk On why simplicity matters by Rich Hickey from Rails conf 2012, and I think this discussion is a good example of easy vs simple. Tailwind feels easy because it’s proximate, flexible, quick etc. but it makes the markup

As someone with more carpentry experience (paid) than dev experience, but strong interests in both worlds, I’m curious how you would reconcile taking an approximate 50% reduction in comp. Don’t know the numbers for your area but knowing Bay

Their known status as one of the most desired/premier incubators in SV (if not globally) during the post dot-com era, coupled with the number of applicants, founders, and investors they touch, would give them a fairly accurate reading

Feedback loops should be coming from customers, not outsiders. That would be noise, IMO. And if that one core sentence is what he believes, I think the whole post could have been more clear and concise instead of making a grand claim that i

I’m familiar with divided lites and your description of a modern SDL (simulated divided lite) vs TDL (true divided…) but I don’t think it’s in the same category of “architectural trick”. This post is on a change in scale/proportionalit

I disagree. I think humans have a higher creative ceiling and so the truly moving, life altering pieces of art will always need that human element; I’d rather not waste my time consuming the AI content when it’s peaks are lower. AI content

Programming and web dev are challenging disciplines that take a lot of time to learn and feel competent with. Years not months. You need to seriously realign your expectations. Lower them. You will not build beautiful things after 3 months

Not curious, but thank you. While you may be right in regard to the ratio, the problem of that 1 and human psychology has damage done. Also, dealbook interview?! That trumps all the other articles, IMHO.

The press moves faster than the justice system and based on the facts that were public, their willingness to toss him softballs caused many people to rightfully question their journalistic integrity, simple as that.

Financially, yes. Physically? I’d bet good money most electricians are in much better physical shape. Pulling wire, climbing ladders, using hand tools… it’s more physically demanding than people think. (My cousin is a journeyman electrician

I’m a little confused by this comment. Agriculture, including the almond growers, only pay for the cost to permit, construct, and maintain a well, as well as electricity for the pump which is almost negligible. Municipalities may have a wat

Wow, this is a pretty big swing-and-a-miss, honestly. This discussion is about finite vs infinite in Economics, not physics. Arguing that wood is finite, in an economic sense, would be a laughable position - wood is almost always used as an

Growth isn’t solely tied to use of finite resources. Services also count. Two people can exchange a service, say a massage, which extracts zero finite resources, and at the same time, creates economic output. edited typo
