I just have to point out that your username is only 4 months old. Maybe you used HN before signing up... but if not, then I'd assume you don't have the proper context as to why this community considers this a negative change.

I kind of like this idea although a lot of people will probably disagree with it. My variation: instead of restricting new users from signing up, maybe just restrict their ability to comment. An account must be x months old to contribute

I'd say the downvotes you're receiving might mean this community disagrees with you... but I'm just a messenger. You asked the question.

Jesus christ man, your first comment was enough. You make some valid points but you're not his mother and I think we all got the advice the first time. There's a fine line between constructive criticism and a soap box...

The first comment, while maybe a bit "snarky", is still very relevant and right on point. The first line of your response is why you're getting down voted. Little bit of snark > calling a comment lame.

Looks cool. My little feedback point: I clicked contact and it directs to a page with a button that is just a mailto link. Unless you plan on re-doing the contact page soon, skip the extra click and page request and just have the contact li

Where are you getting this?? Plenty of recent college grads are more than happy working for large companies and have plenty of opportunities to do so. From my experience, only a a minority even consider going into the startup world, as em

There's no definitive rules for stuff like that. Some seed funding happens pre-revenue and other founders are more than willing to share revenue figures with potential seed investors. We are in the seed funding stage and are starting a

American Citizens and the US government are not the same thing. While we call ourselves a democracy, the elected officials and legislation they create don't always align with the values of the citizens. It's become a complicated m

I agree completely. Learning HTML was such an empowering feeling for me. You can make something fancy or minimal, whatever you feel like. We are all unique and personal websites show that much better than a social media website ever can IMH

So funny to me how people take the message so literally. Most people do not view the source of a webpage so a little script that doesn't affect the user experience is irrelevant to 99% of internet users. The message is about what you a

This comment adds zero value to any meaningful discussion. aJust because he doesn't own it himself doesn't mean he is incapable of a thoughtful analysis of his experience with the product. Keep your jealousy to yourself.

I respect the effort and love that education and students receive but I would love to see companies offer these sorts of deals for other important industries like HEALTHCARE. It's "cool" when companies announce these deals but the reality i

Yea I thought that was funny too. My guess is that a majority of these "memories and moments" are not even images. We use DB to store all of the files for our app and 90% of them are text files. I kind of hate how soft they make it... "I up

A cool idea does not equal a business model. That is why I think soooo many startups fail. They build something awesome, amazing, cool whatever, but they don;t stop to ask people, "Will you pay for this? Is this something you think I could

Doing some simple math, if a doctor is making $200,000 a year or $250,000 a year working 40 hr weeks with 2 weeks of vacation, their hrly rate would be $100 or $125 per hour respectively. 5 minutes of just their time would be between eith
