That linked article does not say acetaminophen is an intentional poison, but that its is an active drug that now appears to have side effects, and they also want to remove it from medicines where it is the primary ingredient.

This article is out of date. [1] is the more common fork and it describes ELPA and Leiningen which are now the easiest way to install clojure into emacs. [1] http://github.com/technomancy/swank-clojure

Obama wants to cancel the moon mission and change NASA to do his own plans (starting with climate, of course). This is the problem of letting politicians run a science program in the first place. Let the private companies do science, and

Some Chinese people apparently give the government that right, but not all. People are individuals, not a single unit. And since they are not free to speak, you can't really tell how many want to give up freedom.

I agree that is part of the issue, many customers don't care. I think there is another relavent point. The video of the Ford guy illustrates how companies are competing on improving this tech. If it were mandated, might that be like forcin

Scoble's text is different from what the Ford guy says. Ford doesn't automatically hit the brakes, only preps them and when you hit the brakes, it automatically applies them 100%. Prius automatically applies the brakes and Scoble says he no

It is a very good writeup. I like his point that Clojure sets a high bar for concurrency features. His dislike of Lisp is my only disagreement.

I wouldn't expect so, at least by the math. It looks is pretty simple. Number the seats 1 to 8, then for each side sum the seat numbers. The standard rig gives 16 and 20, but all 4 of these solutions are 18, 18.

There is value in static checking for some things, but it is also limiting. It requires that code be written such that those things are declarative, can be understood without running the program. There is also value in having those things

Actors for Clojure has been mentioned as a future feature, but this would be for remote procs. Clojure has Agents for local async state changes, but these are only used when you need that feature, not ubiquitously. You should ask on on th

Strictly speaking, if it has no purpose you wouldn't do it. Your hacks may be for learning, entertainment, distraction, avoiding work, etc. Art has a different and distinct purpose, more along the lines of emotional fuel. This is why I disa

No, not in the sense of "fine art" like Michelangelo, that is a different kind of thing. It's a human artifact, it's design and engineering. And I would argue that art does have a purpose, greater than, say, entertainment.

Sadly, that's not true. They do know lisp which has much better ways of dealing with nil. Lisp methods can even declare a nil handler function. Other languages allow defining special functions to handle null, it's not rocket science, but it

I disagree with that quote by Ozzie. The wave protocol is an extension of an existing IM protocol. The app is a combination and rethinking of existing web concepts (IM, email, and others). This isn't something entirely new. Also, other prov
