And that's a huge bummer since I know people who rely on those products and they're getting value out of them. However, I don't think the company failed because it didn't use more aggressive advertising.

I’m a bit more receptive to offline messages if they’re targeted adequately. They can see my interests by skimming my LinkedIn, GitHub and StackOverflow accounts and contacting me via social media or by email is fine if their product is som

Sometime last year, they had someone cold call me from the US to sell me stuff. I’m not sure where they got my number from, but I don’t think that’s a good strategy for trying to sell B2B solutions.

OK, I think the issue is that it's making about 500 HTTP requests when it starts up and some of them are timing out...

I guess I'm doing something wrong, but I installed it with pipx and it's saying "[Errno 8] nodename nor servname provided, or not known" when I launch it without loading any info.

Fair enough, it's a bit of a tangent. Thanks for the extra insight! I kinda' assumed that stars wouldn't move across a galaxy, like from one arm to another. I'll have to look into that.

I wondered the same thing and I asked Sean Carroll about it [1]. He didn’t go into much detail, but here is his answer: > I guess my only insight is, I'm not sure why you relate the number of revolutions that the Milky Way has made

I think it will take us a long time to map the entire “surface” of the visible sphere. Eventually, telescopes will be able to pick up some of the farthest galaxies, but there will always be one which might be a bit farther away, even if it

I believe loads of auxiliary microservices have been omitted for brevity. Of course, those also don’t require Kubernetes, but maybe they have some standardised deployment system which keeps things manageable. Don’t forget about Observabilit

slog’s top-level functions use the default logger, so using that made the most sense for now. There are some custom labels being injected (see the `WithFields()` method) but that's about it.

Sounds like a good opportunity to raise a bunch of issues about this. It's written in Rust and I see it takes 3MB on my Macbook, which I don't think is all that much to be honest, but I'm sure there is room for improvement.
