This just sounds like inexperienced programmers. I've played around with React and it doesn't seem like there is anything special about React that would prevent you from creating a single instance of a component and have it's

This is such a silly POV. Enforcing too much specifics into law is how you end up with non-nonsensical actions that are done just to comply with a law, like intrusive cookie banners on every single website. This law seems to actually be wel

I wouldn't say it's common for people to kick doors in either, I'm sure it happens though. More likely to happen at a place like a dive bar - that wouldn't surprise me, or some place where the bathroom appearance isn

But if the clean toilets have controlled access that requires a fee for use then that mitigates tragedy of commons effect. Not aware of many places like that in the US.

Interested to know how unique US is in this regard. If your name checks out, I assume Japan is one such country where things differ from your experience. I would guess that Japan is the exception though, not the rule.

Very few packages actually contain minified sources - it's not really needed with modern build tools. I think it was an exception in this case, and that by itself could be suspicious. Current version of npm now contains a package-lock.

yeah - thinking it'd be helpful for npm to have a diff command to check source changes when doing upgrades.

With modern build tools like browserify, webpack, rollup, etc. does it really make sense to still have non-apps do minification?

I wouldn't just add some random maintainer with a new GitHub account to a project I controlled. If they had made some contributions via pull requests, I would consider it or if they were a maintainer of other projects with actual users

left-pad was a very different situation. The maintainer unpublished the module from npm. I forget the reason, but I want to say it was some sort of rage quit.

npm [recently] now has a lockfile called package-lock.json, in addition to package.json, which defines the entire dependency tree (not just the direct dependencies as package.json does), contains package hashes, and will pin dependencies to

I think something like an npm diff command would be helpful. This would allow you to see the changes from a previous version that you just upgraded from. This would somewhat replicate the functionality that commiting your node_modules direc

Higher productivity, but stagnant wages means productivity is increasing, but labor is not capturing the increase of their productivity and is instead being captured by shareholders or management.

People will demand fewer car washes or they will start to use fully automated car washes that don’t require people, or they will wash their own car. High labor costs makes automation that may have been thought of as too expensive or complic

Not sure that webpack still depends on `is-odd` (at least not directly). Note that `is-odd` depends on `is-number` facepalm . Some people in this world seem to think their purpose is to create as many JS modules as possible.
