Same for the original patch from the mailing conversation above. The original results in (reformatted) #ifdef CONFIG_PPC32 *data = ((unsigned int *)child->thread.fp_state.fpr)[FPRINDEX(index)]; #else flush_fp_to_thre

One thing that wonders me. The patch contains a fix but obviously no unit test that verifies it. Is that the standard of linux kernel development? In the company I work for, the patch would certainly be rejected because of that.

Comparing both patches, I see a clear difference. While the contribution from the linked article changes the behaviour of both branches of the if...else, the final contribution changes only the parth in the "if" branch. I guess, t

I always wondered why the import syntax is so different for the two things: import mpmath as mp from mpmath import mp IMO that's the root cause of that kind of user errors. Why not just import mpmath.mp as mp or somethi

That's amazing. He even managed to fit handwriting-like fonts and outline fonts in 8x8. I'll keep that page in mind, when I build my next Arduino LED-matrix display project.

It seems that many of "my script can do [something] with [information in a different form]" can be superseded by LLVMs already or in the near future and the quality is way better than what the scripts are capable of. I just wonder

Empirical determined short answer: way too far. I tried this years ago when I was with my kids on a playground and broke me a toe that way.

I just had the idea to analyze this using scientific methods and write a paper in my spare time (would be my fist paper ;-) ). But seems there is already one: https://www.princeton.edu/news/2015/03/30/bat

What exactly is the "density" of a black hole? As I understand, a BH is a singularity, so all mass is at one point which means all BHs have the same (infinite) density. Is it a kind of "virtual density", e.g. the mass of

A short explaination what remotes are and how to configure it would be helpfull. Otherwise, the "git push" command would fail and the tutorial gives no hint, why.

Thats a huge PITA on newer cars. On both, mine (Skoda) and my wife's (Nissan) I have to accept their data protection policy every time I start the car. The dialogue usually pops up a few seconds after I start driving.

Looks nice but not like water. It keeps moving forever. A bucket of water would stand still after a few minutes. Edit: Seems to lack simulation of friction between water particles?

Accuracy is awesome. Tried with a complex thing: A photo of my son sitting on a tree. While others (pixian.ai) remove his legs and let a tree branch there instead, photoroom removed everything from the photo except the person.

To me it's still not clear if 6.3.x is stable ( https://github.com/Snapchat/KeyDB/issues/494 ) and performant ( https://github.com/Snapchat/KeyDB/issues/470 ).

You can see the effect on the very same car very clearly. We have been traveling with a camping car from germany to romania. In germany we did not need to clean the windscreen at all. In romania we did it almost every day.

Does not seem to be very consistent. When I generate 2 texts with the same "style", it never looks like written by the same writer.

Rather than switching to "main" and pull it, you can just stay in "feature" and do a fetch followed by "rebase origin/main". Then pull "main" before you merge the feature. I'd also use "

A while ago, I spent some time to make LXC run in a docker container. The idea is to have a statefull system managed by LXC run in a docker environment so that management (e.g. Volumes, Ingress and Load Balancer) from K8S can be used for th

I was searching for some (no-anecdotal) evidence and found this study: https://labs.ripe.net/author/giovane_moura/dns-ttl-violation... Seems that increased TTL in resolvers is still a thing in 2021 but it's a
